A Lifetime of Making Music

I grew up singing. The church I grew up in had marvelous children’s and youth choirs. In high school it was the Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers, along with leading roles in two musicals. In college, I sang with the Concert Choir and Chambers Singers. I also studied voice and had leading roles in three operas and one Little Theater production. I have worked as a church musician in Missouri, Texas, Kentucky, and Georgia. And I have had the privilege to sing with excellent collegiate choral groups at Shorter College and Reinhardt University.

Current Choral Groups

I started playing the violin in fourth grade, and I played in the orchestra through my sophomore year in High School. A mediocre violinist – at best – I was happy to switch to vocal and choral music in the 10th Grade. I have (re)discovered a desire to play an instrument in adulthood, and I now play multiple instruments. The hammered dulcimer is my solo instrument. I play the mountain dulcimer and the ukulele most often as accompaniment to singing. And I am learning the electric bass guitar.
